We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Data Engineer to join our team. This role is pivotal in architecting and building the data and AI infrastructure that powers cutting-edge solutions for our clients, ensuring they maximize the value of AI-driven technologies. The Data Engineer will collaborate closely with AI engineers, data scientists, and software developers to design scalable backend systems, integrate advanced AI services, and deliver agentic AI applications from prototype to production. This position requires a balance of strong backend engineering expertise, deep familiarity with the Microsoft AI stack, and a passion for building reliable, high-performance systems.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Design and build robust backend services and APIs using Python and FastAPI to support AI-powered applications.
Architect and implement solutions on the Microsoft AI stack, leveraging Azure AI Search, Azure Document Intelligence, and Azure OpenAI.
Develop and orchestrate agentic AI systems using frameworks such as Microsoft Agent Framework, AutoGen, Semantic Kernel, LangGraph, or similar — including tool calling, multi-agent coordination, and memory/context orchestration.
Integrate AI capabilities into client solutions, including RAG systems, document processing pipelines, web search, and speech-to-text / text-to-speech services.
Implement and maintain Model Context Protocol (MCP) integrations to enable seamless interaction between agents, tools, and data sources.
Work closely with AI engineers, data scientists, and software developers to ensure the successful deployment of AI models and applications.
Build and operate production-grade AI systems with strong observability, prompt and version management, evaluation pipelines, and reliable scaling.
Containerize and orchestrate services using Docker and Kubernetes, ensuring distributed systems are performant, resilient, and async by design.
Stay updated on emerging AI technologies and industry best practices to provide innovative and forward-thinking recommendations to clients.
Ensure data and AI solutions are scalable, secure, and compliant with industry regulations and best practices.
Develop technical documentation, including solution architectures, integration guides, and best practice references.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

Very good backend engineering experience with Python and FastAPI.
Hands-on experience with the Microsoft AI stack / Azure, including:
Azure AI Search
Azure Document Intelligence
Azure OpenAI
Azure Functions / Storage / Service Bus (a plus)
Experience with agentic frameworks and orchestration, such as:
Microsoft Agent Framework / AutoGen / Semantic Kernel / LangGraph or similar
Tool calling
Multi-agent systems
Memory and context orchestration
Model Context Protocol (MCP)
Proven experience integrating:
Web search engines
Speech-to-text / Text-to-speech services
Document processing pipelines
RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) systems
Good working knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, distributed systems, and async processing.
Experience building and operating production-grade AI systems, including:
Observability and monitoring
Prompt and version management
Evaluation pipelines
Scaling and reliability engineering
An advantage is to have knowledge in CI/CD, Azure DevOps, LLM optimization and fine-tuning.
