PHP Engineer (Bulgaria&Serbia)

We are looking to hire an experienced PHP Engineer to build, maintain, and scale complex web applications. This role requires a self-starter/self-managed mindset, the ability to work independently, and a strong sense of ownership, proactively escalating/asking questions when needed.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Develop, maintain, and optimize scalable PHP-based applications and services.

• Participate in knowledge transfer sessions and quickly absorb complex system details.

• Collaborate with developers, QA, designers, and stakeholders to define features and architecture.

• Integrate APIs and manage database interactions efficiently.

• Write unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and stability.

• Optimize application performance, responsiveness, and security.
  
  
  

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

• Solid experience with PHP 

• Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming and design patterns.

• Proven ability to work independently with minimal guidance and manage deliverables proactively.

• Experience with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL).

• Familiarity with modern web development practices (REST, GraphQL, microservices).

• Proficiency in debugging and test automation.

• Strong communication skills in English.
