Full-stack Engineer [React + Node.js]

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Perform hands-on software development, including writing code and unit tests, doing proof of concepts, conducting code reviews, and testing in ongoing sprints.

Mentoring other engineers, helping to support their professional development.

Designing and implementing innovative solutions to challenging web development problems.

Participate in system design and specifications, development, testing, debugging, documentation, and support.

Providing analysis of problems and recommending solutions.

Working collaboratively with other members of the product engineering team and the wider business as required.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

At least 5+ years’ experience working in software development.

Expert JavaScript and TypeScript knowledge.

Strong experience with Node.js

Strong experience with React

Knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and CSS pre-processors like SASS or LESS

Understanding of Object-Oriented Programming principles

Knowledge of frameworks available for NodeJS, such as Express, NestJS, Strong Loop, etc.

Creating database schemas that represent and support business processes

Knowledge of AWS Services, particularly serverless technologies such as Lambda, DynamoDB and event-based services.

Familiarity with version control solutions (such as GitHub), including branching, merging and pull requests.

Experience with code reviews.

Highly collaborative, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice to have:

Experience with any other front-end framework, like Angular or VueJS

Experience with JavaScript task runners like Grunt, Gulp, or similar

Experience with package managers

Experience with Cloud services and Docker

Creating database schemas that represent and support business processes

Previous experience working in a microservices-based architecture.

Experience working in an Agile team environment.

Experience working with RESTful and GraphQL APIs.

Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and tools.

Understanding of security principles and best practices in software development.
